About Me

My Photo

At the age of 28, I moved from my hometown of New York City in search of new experiences.  I have been living in the United Kingdom ever since.  I’m married to a lovely Englishman and have three nearly-grown children.

My interests include, but are by no means limited to, needlework, travel, reading and writing.

Wii Fit Plus Check-In: 30 April 2010

I maintained this week.  Nothing lost, but nothing gained.  I suppose that's just the way I am now.  A step or two forward, stand still for a while, then forward again.  Well as long as I don't go backwards, it's still a successful week.

I went to see my physiotherapist this past Friday.  I explained to him about the meds I've been taking and what a difference they'd made.

'That's greee-at, he said in his adorable Scottish accent.  'Have you been keeping up with the exercises I've shown you?'  'Well...' I began.  'You haven't, have you,' he surmised.  I explained to him that I had been using the Wii Fit Plus to augment, and in some cases, supplant his recommended exercises.

He put me through my paces and seemed pleased with the progress I had made since we last met.  He said I was showing definite improvement.  He then demonstrated a couple of more exercises for me to work on.

When our session had finished, the physio didn't give me another appointment.  He felt things could just stay as they are.  But he did leave the door open for me to come back should I need any further help.

So that was that.  After six long, tedious months, I had been discharged.  Excellent!  For the first time since my last operation, I finally feel as if I'm truly on the road to recovery.
