Wii Fit Plus Check-In: 22 April 2010
Overall, I'm pleased with this week's results. It's progress; slow but it's progress. I've lost 1/8" on my hips, my BMI is slightly lower,and I've lost another pound. I was even more vigilant this past week about what I ate, and it seems to have paid off.
While I was doing my Body Test, the Wii enquired if I knew what my ideal weight should be. I've always assumed it was whatever weight I felt comfortable with. I was curious though so I clicked through till I was presented with an ideal weight of 9st, 11lb (137lb) with a BMI of 22. Yeah...well, 25 years and three kids ago I probably would have agreed. Now, I think it's a bit unrealistic. I know my current weight is not acceptable but neither the Wii Fit Plus's assessment of my ideal weight.
I'm just going to take it a week at a time. I've set an overall goal for myself of 12st, 7lb (172lb). (That's the weight I was before my medical problems began.) I've programmed a mini-goal on the Wii Fit Plus of 13st 7lb (189lb) to be reached in 39 days. I've got seven more pounds to go and if I keep going the way I have been, I don't see why I shouldn't be able to reach it.
Today I treated myself to games on the Wii Fit Plus. I was unusually energetic today and added five extra minutes to the usual 30. I even did some stretching exercises afterwards. My hamstrings are tight so it was a case of easy does it.
You may be wondering what's brought about this energy spike and enthusiasm. Well, that will be the subject of my next post.
