About Me

My Photo

At the age of 28, I moved from my hometown of New York City in search of new experiences.  I have been living in the United Kingdom ever since.  I’m married to a lovely Englishman and have three nearly-grown children.

My interests include, but are by no means limited to, needlework, travel, reading and writing.

April Fool!

No…no, I’m not lying. These are my actual statistics. (self-pitying sigh) Because of the excess baggage I am carrying, I will be referring to these updates as ‘check-ins’, and will continue to do so until further notice.  Clearly those extra sit-ups the night before didn’t help much.

OK, I wasn’t expecting to drop a dress size after going nuts eating last week, but I was really disappointed to see how much it affected my waist line and BMI. On the bright side(?), since my primary goal is to strengthen my body and become more mobile, I think I’m making some headway there.

Wii Fit Plus Stats:

Centre of Gravity (COG)
L: 45.8%           R: 54.2%

Balance Test:
Agility:        17/17
Prediction:   8.49 Time Held

Wii Fit Age: 53

Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board53? Can you believe it? My balance is a bit off-centre but that’s not news. It’s always going to be an issue. That was the main reason I started the Wii Fit Plus programme in the first place; to either overcome my limitations or learn to work around them. In that respect, I think I’ve acquitted myself nicely. Well, on the Agility Test anyway. The Prediction Test though is going to take some practice.

Despite that, I’m starting to notice some subtle changes already. My abs and quads are starting to tone up. I’m making more of an effort to stand and sit straighter and my walk is becoming more fluid, less stiff.

GOALS FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK:

1) Do at least 3 proper Wii Fit Plus  work-outs this week; more would be a bonus, but no less than 3.

2) Lose at least 1 lb.
