About Me

My Photo

At the age of 28, I moved from my hometown of New York City in search of new experiences.  I have been living in the United Kingdom ever since.  I’m married to a lovely Englishman and have three nearly-grown children.

My interests include, but are by no means limited to, needlework, travel, reading and writing.

An Easter Sunday Revelation

Wednesday, 7 April 2010

Hope everyone had a nice Easter.

Bailey's Irish Cream Tipsy TrufflesI got two lovely chocolate eggs from my husband and the kids.  Now I do love me some chocolate.  And the Baileys egg my husband presented me was delectable.  But while I was loving the creamy texture and hating the guilt it brings, I had something of an epiphany. It occurred to me that just because the Easter Bunny brought us lots of chocolate on Easter Sunday, it doesn't mean I had to scarf the whole lot on Easter Sunday. That might seem like a no-brainer to the majority of you but to a chocoholic like me, this was a real eye-opener.

And with that thought came action. After slamming the eggs against the floor a few times, I managed to get them down to bite-sized pieces. I then divided them up evenly, put them into plastic bags and hid them out of sight in the cupboard. My plan was to treat myself to one bag a day. With a bit of discipline (OK, a lot of discipline) these chocolate pieces should last me at least a week, maybe ten days.

I had a really good Wii Fit Plus session today. I couldn't be asked to work with Ramona today so I opted for some aerobics and balance games instead. The Hula Hoop was a good warm-up as was the Basic Step. I had to give the Boxing a miss though. I've had a painful elbow since Sunday. Throwing punches was out of the question. Guess I should see the doctor about that.

I think I'm finally getting the hang of heading that football. I actually scored double digits. 49 points to be exact. And I unlocked advanced levels on Tightrope Tension and Snowboarding. Woo-Hoo.

And...my Wii Fit piggy's gone bronze. You know what that means?

Seriously, do you? Cause I haven't a clue.
